In our annual report, we highlight the hard work of the Healthwatch Tower Hamlets team in actively listening to the community's experiences during 2022 and 2023. By gathering and utilizing the stories of residents, we were able to enhance the quality of local health and social care services.

Loneliness and social isolation are common problems for people of all ages in our borough. These conditions can lead to poor physical and mental health and increase the risk of developing conditions like dementia and depression. The elderly are particularly vulnerable due to reduced mobility and lack of proximity to family, but young people also experience loneliness when away from home.

Healthy Neighbourhoods are a new way of shaping how communities work. It means everyone should have easy access to things that support them to live a healthy and fulfilling life such as food shops, parks, gyms, schools, health services, and leisure activities.
