We've been lucky to have Amadou join us for a 5-week internship. Read on to learn about the tasks he worked on and the skills he has acquired during his time with us.
How did you find out about the internship at Healthwatch Tower Hamlets?
I found out through my study abroad programme, CEA CAPA.
What kind of things did you learn during your internship?
I have learned skills like organisation, data entry, report writing, and interviewing.
Did the internship improve your learning/confidence, or knowledge in a specific area?
Yes, my knowledge and confidence in report writing.
What did you enjoy the most about the internship?
I enjoyed going on visits to GPs while I was conducting my report.
Has working with Healthwatch changed how you view health and social care services?
Being from the United States, this was my first experience with the English health care system, so I got to learn a lot about how it works. I now have a new lens on health and social care services that I can take back home with me!
