Resident Doctors' Strike Announced
Residents (previously known as junior) doctors' strike will take place between 7am Friday 25 July and 7am on Wednesday 30 July 2025. Here's what to do if you need medical assistance.
Some hospital appointments may be affected. If you have an appointment scheduled during this period, please attend it, unless you are told otherwise by the hospital.
Please note that hospital services will be very busy. There are other ways you can get help.
You can:
- Contact your GP
- Go to your local pharmacist for advice (Did you know pharmacists can provide treatment for seven common conditions without the need for a GP appointment or prescription? For more info, click here.)
- Contact NHS 111 (Including if you are in a mental health crisis, choose Option 2.)
In emergency cases, where your health need is life-threatening, please call 999.
